How to Promote Your RC Car Club and Find Racers

Adverts and Posters Social Media Booking In System Stay Active Update Track Club Championship Race Videos Small Prizes Club Website

While we have been trying to promote our new RC Events group, we noticed a lot of clubs don’t seem to be using social media enough or other techniques to gain more racers. So we thought we would put a list together of ways to engage with your members and hopefully attract some new ones. Because after all, racing is better when we challenge others.

Club Details on the BRCA Website

Promote RC Clubs with the BRCA

All clubs should be on the BRCA website as part of the affiliation process, so you might question why this is the first one on the list. The thing we have noticed is that most clubs have very little information about the club on there.

The BRCA have a great Club section which allows you to search for clubs in an area. You can also search for classes, surfaces, and facilities. So if racers use this tool, it's important it is listed correctly and has enough details for the racer to realise that it's the right place for them.

A factor that you might not realise about the BRCA is that Google loves it in terms of RC Car racing. This is because it's full of content about classes, clubs, and everything else RC racing. It is also linked to from every other RC-based website, which Google will see and reward them for it. This means all the details they have about your club will appear on Google when someone searches for your club.

If you need any help with the club details and descriptions, we can help. Just fill in our "Club Details and Review Submission" form, and we will convert it into usable details for your BRCA page. Just mention you're doing this when we contact you.

We also offer a logo design service to help improve the look of your club. For more information visit our product page here: RC Club Logo Design Service

Use Image Adverts and Posters to Get Noticed

RC Club Adverts are a great way to attract racers

Well-presented digital posters attract racers to your club. They grab attention when racers scroll social media and add excitement to your posts. Physical posters at local model shops are another great way of attracting new racers, especially beginners.

By using a mix of these strategies, you can help your RC car club attract new members and keep your existing racers engaged. After all, the more racers, the more exciting the competition!

If you don't have help or skills within your club to create some eye catching adverts we can help. We offer a great value service for creating post, we also have a lot of experience with create posters for all types of RC events. Check out or product page here: RC Event Poster Design Service

Make the Most of Social Media

Promote RC Clubs with Social Media - Facebook and Instagram

Social media has become a must with RC Car clubs in the past few decades. The main platform seems to be Facebook, with most clubs having a Facebook Page or Group to manage and promote their meetings. Other platforms like Instagram, X, Threads, and even TikTok can also help promote your club, but the interactive features of Facebook seem to work the best.

The current trend for getting a lot of attention on all social platforms is with good reels. Just make sure you have plenty in the description about RC so the platform knows what the reel is about and can suggest it to RC racers.

Facebook Pages

A Facebook page is effectively a website for your club that lives on Facebook. The focus of the Page is on you to post information about the club like meetings, rules, and events. The only thing members can do is interact with your posts, generally by just commenting. With a Facebook page, you are also able to respond to members as though you are the club (and not your personal account). This means a team can manage the page and respond to comments and messages on behalf of the club. We would always recommend you create a Facebook Page for your club as a way of promoting information.

Another benefit to being able to interact as a page is the ability to comment on other pages and groups. This is more important than people realise. By interacting with other groups (like groups about classes you run), it allows other people to notice your pages. Those interactions get tagged by Facebook, and when you next post something publicly, Facebook is likely to suggest it to people you have interacted with. Just a few random comments each day can have a big effect on how your page gets noticed.

Facebook Groups

We have found that a lot of clubs just have a Facebook group instead of a Page. A group is intended to encourage interactions with members. It allows members to post on the group—this can be information, pictures, and more commonly, sales adverts. There is nothing wrong with using a Facebook Group instead of a Page; they just usually require a lot more monitoring to make sure members are adding posts that benefit the club.

Update Booking-in System

RC Club Booking In System

A good booking-in system can improve racer attendance at your club. We have found that booking systems which show who has booked in attract more racers. This is because they can see who the competition is or how full the event is. Some of the fastest racers follow their rivals, so if they see one booked in at your club, they are likely to also book in.

We offer a booking-in service at RC Club Hub which works in this way. It's managed by us and priced at less than one racer's entry fee. For more details, visit our product page here: RCH - Club Meeting & Event Booking In System

Stay Active and Consistent

Promotion isn’t a one-time thing. Keeping up with regular posts, events, and interactions with your members will help keep your club growing. The more effort you put into engagement, the more people will take notice.

By using a mix of these strategies, you can help your RC car club attract new members and keep your existing racers engaged. After all, the more racers, the more exciting the competition!

Review the Car Classes You Offer

Review RC Club Classes to Atract more Racers

This one might seem a little strange when it comes to promoting your club, but the classes you offer at the club can impact how many racers book in to race. We have seen clubs over the years trying to be too exclusive when it comes to classes.

Our advice would be to check clubs in your surrounding area and review what classes they are running. If there are successful ones that your club can include, then it's worth a try. Simply posting a question to your racers is usually enough to attract the racers of that class.

Update/Refresh the Track

Track conditions can attract new racers. This will vary depending on what type of track you have. For indoor tracks, new corner markers and carpets can be a big attraction for new racers. For outdoor tracks, a good lick of paint or new features usually go down well.

Create a Club Championship

RC Club Championships

Championships are always a good way of attracting racers. They also don’t have to be anything big. Simply running one with a timing system like RC-Timing can play a big part in attracting attention. RC racing is all about competition, and it's not just about the ones fighting for the title. Even the lower racers will have something to aim for and can improve by entering more championship meetings.

The ideal length for a championship is between 6 to 8 rounds, making it long enough for good opportunities but not too long that racers lose interest.

Post Videos and Live Streams

Filming races and posting them online can attract a wider audience. Live streaming events on Facebook or YouTube allows people to experience the excitement, even if they can’t attend in person. Highlighting thrilling moments can inspire others to get involved.

Offer Small Prizes

Small prizes can make a big difference. Even small bars of chocolate create excitement in the finals. Buying enough for each final gives everyone a chance to win something.

Trophies are a big attraction for clubs, especially for championships or special events. They can be pricey, so it’s worth taking pictures of winners to promote the club even more.

Winner boards are an even better marketing tool than trophies. Since they include the club’s logo, any winner pictures posted online will always reference your club.

Create an Eye-Catching Website

Promote RC Clubs with an Eye Catching Website

Our next suggestion is one that can be very technical and will require someone who is very good with computers. A club website is always desirable and can be used to really sell your club. A simple website with essential information about your club can make a huge difference. Include details like event schedules, membership information, and a contact page. Adding a gallery of past events and a blog with race reports can also keep visitors engaged.

There are a lot of useful tools out there to build websites now. RC Club Hub is built on a platform called Joomla, which is like an operating system. We can then install various apps like calendars and gallery tools to make it interactive. There are also a lot of services like wix.com that can help make the process a lot simpler, but there can be monthly charges with this.

A simpler alternative to a website could be to host your club information on RC Club Hub. We can create you a dedicated page and even give you access to update it yourself. We can also offer services like a booking-in system at additional costs. If this is something you are interested in, feel free to reach out.
