What RC Phrase or Joke Do You Think Needs to be Immortalised on a T-Shirt?
Let’s be honest – RC racing is full of excitement, but when it comes to T-shirts, things can be a bit... dull. Most of what’s out there are just plain logos or brand names slapped on a tee. Nothing wrong with that, but where’s the fun? Other hobbies have loads of funny T-shirts, clever parodies, and witty wordplay – so why not RC?
This week, we decided to do something about it. We asked our followers: “What would make a great RC-themed T-shirt?” And as always, you lot delivered!
From clever jokes to creative ideas, here are some of the best T-shirt concepts we came up with – inspired by the RC community.
“Did You Read the Manual?” T-Shirt
This was one of the most suggested ideas we received! It’s a fun nod to those moments when experienced racers get asked why someone’s car isn’t working properly. More often than not, the answer is simple – the car wasn’t built quite right. We designed this T-shirt in the style of a Tamiya manual, which most RC fans will recognise straight away – after all, nearly all of us have built a Tamiya kit at some point!

“Not A Toy” T-Shirt
This one’s for every RC racer who’s ever heard the dreaded question – “Can I have a go?” From the outside, it might look easy, but racing at over 30mph with a car you’ve spent hours building and setting up is no joke. This T-shirt gets the message across with a bit of humour, featuring the caption:
“It’s a scaled down, aerodynamically optimised, over-powered, infinitely adjustable, easily breakable, Professional Racing Machine!”
“Electric Is Best” T-Shirt
This T-shirt is for all the RC fans who prefer to keep things clean and quiet with electric power. A few people suggested designs around the classic Electric vs Nitro debate – a fun rivalry that still gets people talking. We think both are brilliant in their own way, but a little bit of friendly banter never hurts!
“Nitro is Better” T-Shirt
Of course, we had to make a rival T-shirt for the Nitro fans too! This one proudly says “Nitro is Better” and features a fast-looking 1/8th scale Nitro race engine. It’s all part of the fun – so, which side are you on?
“Born to Race” T-Shirt
One of our followers suggested a T-shirt that shows the frustration of always having to rebuild RC cars. So we created this fun design with the bold line “Born to Race”, and the funny caption underneath – “Forced to repair it.” It also features a Tamiya manual-style drawing of a young racer burning his fingers on a hot race motor – something many of us can relate to!
“Spicy Pillows” T-Shirt
We’ll admit – this one had us scratching our heads at first! We’d never heard of “Spicy Pillows” until someone explained it’s a nickname for puffed-up LiPo batteries that are ready to explode. So, we had a bit of fun with the idea and created a T-shirt that looks like a luxury pillow brand selling “Spicy Pillows.” The design features a cartoon of someone sleeping on one – not the best idea!
“This is my Race Winning Shirt” T-Shirt
This one’s for all the RC racers who like to turn up to the track full of confidence. The T-shirt proudly says “This is my race winning shirt” and includes the image of a winner’s trophy. It’s the perfect top to wear when you mean business and are ready to take home the win!

“Send It” T-Shirt
This T-shirt is inspired by Kevin Talbot fans and all the off-road racers who love to go big on the jumps. It features a cool, artistic image of an RC car flying through the air – perfect for those who like to push the limits and send it sky high!
“Top Racer Seeks Loving Sponsor” T-Shirt
This is one of our favourites – a fun T-shirt designed like a lonely hearts advert. It’s for all the RC racers out there dreaming of the perfect sponsor. The joke is all about a racer looking for a “loving sponsor” to supply them with tyres. A light-hearted take on the struggles of racing on a budget!

“RC-Man” T-Shirt
We saved the silliest one for last! This design is a 100% RC Club Hub original. Are you the one who saves the day at club meetings? Then this is the shirt for you. It features a fun cartoon of a superhero using RC cars to save the world – perfect for any RC hero out there!
