Have you ever wanted to try RC racing but weren’t sure where to start? Now’s your chance! The Slippery Donuts, a brand-new RC support group, is on a mission to bring fresh talent to the track and help more people experience the thrill of RC racing.  Founded by Ben Gosling from Barnsley, Slippery Donuts is already gaining strong support from racers and clubs across South Yorkshire and Derbyshire

To give newcomers a true taste of RC racing, Ben has built a race-ready Yokomo Rookie Speed 2—the Slippery Donut Demo Car! This fully tuned RC car is designed for beginners to get behind the controls and experience a properly set up racing car on the track. Clubs across the region are supporting this exciting project, and now you can take part too!

Join us at one of our upcoming race meetings in South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. You’ll have the chance to test drive the Slippery Donut Demo Car, get expert advice, and discover what RC racing is all about. Whether you're completely new to the hobby or just curious to give it a go, this is the perfect opportunity to see if RC racing is for you.

Slippery Donut Hire Car

Our 1/10 scale 4WD Touring Car is available to try for free, giving you the opportunity to race in one of the most competitive and exciting RC classes—often compared to Formula 1 or the World Endurance Championship in terms of popularity and technology. These cars are highly tuned racing machines, offering precise handling and countless setup options—some say even more than a real F1 car!

To make sure you have a fun and stress-free experience, we can limit the controls to help you get used to driving before unlocking the car’s full potential. Plus, the local clubs we partner with are always welcoming new racers, and we’ll be with you throughout the event to offer support, guidance, and encouragement.

What to Expect on Race Day

Nothing, everything is provided.

The race meetings are usually around 5 hours long. You are welcome to bring your own food. Most clubs have catering facilities or places to get food nearby.
