Club Review
Rugby RCCC is a great place to race, especially for those just starting out or getting back into the hobby. With a supportive group of racers, a flexible and fun track setup, and the bonus of club-owned gear to try before you buy, it’s a brilliant example of what grassroots RC racing should be.
The club has a really warm and relaxed feel. Everyone is happy to help out—whether it’s setting up, keeping each other's cars running, or just sharing knowledge. It’s clear that the club puts in a lot of effort to make new racers feel comfortable and supported.
One standout feature is the club-owned “beginners car”. If you're curious about racing but don’t have your own equipment, you can borrow the club car for the night. If you enjoy it, the car may even be available to hire for future meetings (on a first-come, first-served basis) until you're ready to get your own setup.
The club races indoors at Rogers Hall, which has a good-sized track that’s regularly updated. Videos of the layout and action can be found on the club’s Facebook group. The track usually caters to 1/12th scale GT12, Atoms, Zen, and 1/10th Touring cars, plus Mardaves when needed.
There’s a kitchen on site for refreshments, and the venue is close to takeaways if you're after something more filling between heats. The pit area has plenty of space, and there’s a small playground just outside the hall—perfect for families bringing children along.
