Club Review
If you race a 17.5 Touring Car, then Newark RC Car Club is a must-visit destination. The club holds races every Friday night, attracting an average of around 30 racers with a diverse range of abilities. The meetings are fast-paced and action-packed. Additionally, the friendly atmosphere in the pits fosters a welcoming community spirit, making it a great place for both seasoned racers and newcomers alike.
I had a great time when I visited Newark RC Car Club. The track features an excellent layout with both fast and technical sections, providing a perfect balance for exciting racing. The track markers were very clear and remained in place throughout the night, ensuring consistent racing conditions.
The combination of a good number of racers and the use of Black ETS carpet meant the track had a lot of grip. Although there were a few questionable corners, the layout overall made for some fantastic racing. The club is very well-organised, with the format and rules clearly explained as I booked in. This level of organization contributed to a smooth and enjoyable evening of racing. Overall, Newark RC Car Club offers a thrilling and well-run experience for all RC car racers.
The meetings at Newark RC Car Club run fast, so it’s essential to stay on top of your car preparations to keep up with the pace. The club primarily runs one class, which is the 17.5 BLINKY Touring Cars. However, I believe they are open to running other on-road classes if there is sufficient interest.
Having only one class ensures close and competitive finals. Additionally, the club has a commendable ethos for beginners, making a genuine effort to create heats that accommodate those who are new to the hobby and looking to learn.
Whether you're a seasoned racer or a newcomer, I highly recommend Newark RC Car Club. The inclusive and supportive environment, combined with well-organized and fast-paced meetings, makes it a fantastic place for RC car racers of all abilities.
